Job Purpose

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Software Intern will participate in the development, integration, troubleshooting and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products.



Duties and responsibilities


  • Assist in developing software solutions for multi-axis Atomic Force Microscope.
  • Programming .NET based desktop applications primarily in C# with some C and C++
  • Assist in developing software for automation and pattern recognition.
  • Develop software testing solutions for manufacturing circuit board qualification
  • Assist with redesign and rework of existing code, build systems and tooling.
  • Hands on with instrumentation to test and debug software features




The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to solve complex technical problems. If you enjoy the development of high-performance integrated systems, this is an excellent opportunity. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Typically requires at least one year of education in programming and/or engineering.
  • Must demonstrate clear ability to think logically to solve problems
  • Good interpersonal communications skills are required due to the high degree of interaction and collaboration across functional groups.
  • Familiarity with C#, C, and C++ programming languages, .NET framework, Git and Visual Studio.

  • Typically requires at least one year’s work towards a University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Available for 1 year internship.  Ability to work 10-20 hours while enrolled in University and  40 hours during summer break.
